About me

Hi! My name is Michał Muskała and I’m a student and programmer based in Katowice, Poland.

I’m currently studying Computer Science at Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland. I’m also working with the great guys at Woumedia. I’m extremely lucky to be able to do Elixir at work.

During summer 2015 I worked on my Google Summer of Code project to bring the power of NoSQL databases to Ecto - Elixir’s database library. Out of this was born the mongo_ecto adapter. I also became a member of the Ecto’s core team.

Besides Elixir, my main experience lies in Ruby, but I’m also fluent in other programming languages - notably Erlang/OTP, JavaScript and C/C++. Because of my love to Elixir, I got interested in other functional languages. Currently I’m learning Haskell, as the ultimate functional weapon, but I’m also looging into Scheme and Clojure.

When I’m not programming I enjoy skiing and sailing.

You can often meet me at #elixir-lang IRC channel on freenode as micmus. You can also find me on github as michalmuskala, or ping me on twitter @michalmuskala. I’m always happy to talk to you via email, so don’t be afraid to get in touch via michal at muskala dot eu.
